NOTE -
  1. The number of seats available in PH, CW, and Foreign Students Category are Supernumerary. In the case of foreign students (12 seats), the admissions will be done on the basis of screening which will be done subsequently.
  2. The CW cutoff mentioned here is only for the CW6 category for which 22 students were shortlisted for the interview process.
  3. For all the remaining CW categories from CW1 to CW5, all the students who applied under each of those categories were shortlisted by the Institute for the admission process.
  4. Thus, the total number of students shortlisted in each of the remaining CW categories is as given below -
    • CW1 - 12
    • CW2 - 11
    • CW3 - 08
    • CW4 - 11
    • CW5 - 20
  5. Also, please note for situations such as in the case of the above CW categories where the entire pool of applicants is shortlisted there is no mention of the minimum composite score.

    1. Hey Rakesh.
Please go through the note I have put in below the criteria now. In case of CW it is not just one category but there are 6 sub-categories from CW1 to CW6. And for CW1 to CW5 all were shortlisted. Hence, the score is for the candidate with the lowest composite score which might have been from any CW other than 6. Thanks :)

  2. Hi Ronit,
A really helpful blog. Thanks a lot for putting this up!
I appeared for CAT'21 and secured a percentile of 98.36, however, the quant percentile is only 79.
I belong to the CW6 category (wards of ex-servicemen), scored CGPA 10.0 in X, 94.80% in XII & 7.41 in graduation (NIT Kurukshetra) and have a total work experience of 2.5+ years. (2+ years in management consulting)
Do you think I could get a call with this score and profile?
Also, given that FMS has only 12 CW seats, would categories CW1-5 be given priority over CW6 when in comes to final seat allotment? Asking this to understand if at all CW6 has a chance to make it to the final list or the seats get exhausted by CW5 in order of priority.
    TIA!

    1. Hello.
First of all convey my regards to your parents and a huge thanks from my side for serving the country. Have great regards for people from the armed forces !!!

Secondly your profile is supremely good and I am sure you should be having no issues getting a call from FMS for an interview at least (very minute chance of not getting once).

Regarding the seat allotment frankly saying I am not sure if there is any internal split or how it it done amongst the different CW sub-categories. The best someone can inform you is from the admissions team. I would suggest dropping in an email to them to ask about this. Thanks and reply in case I can help with anything more :)

  3. Hello,
In FMS CS score calculation, if we have >75% in 10th and 12th, it's given 10%. So does it mean we'll get straightaway 10 points or 10% of what score we have in 10/12th?

    1. Hello.
Frankly saying I am not sure how this would be calculated. You will need to confirm this from the official admissions committee. Just drop them an email and you should receive a response from them clarifying this. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hello.
You would get in mostly but would need some time as it would be in later lists. Also, this is as per my experience but no one can say for sure as the waitlist list movement is dynamic each year. Thanks :)

    1. Hello.
Yes almost 95 percent confirmed to get a seat in the subsequent lists. Again keeping those 5 percent for just my safety in case the prediction goes haywire. But congrats and All the Best :)

  6. ST waitlist number - 46, any chances?? It has already moved by 10, so it's 36 now.

    1. Hello.
As per the statistics I have seen over the past couple of years, you are at the very edge. And thus if you convert it would only be by the very last list. However, this is as per what I have seen and my experience and thus can go other way as well. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hey.
I will surely try getting it this year. Though I ask for the same every year, yet the colleges, deny giving the same everytime. Thanks :)

    1. Hi Shantanu.
Thank you so much for your appreciation and I am glad you found it useful. Coming to your profile and the score in CAT, I have always stated irrespective of your profile that is even if you have 10 10 10 (which is almost impossible) always aim for 99.9x percentile.

The reason being higher percentile would help make your path to your dream college easier. Thanks and All the very Best :)
