Category-wise no. of candidates who filled the CAT form

Category-wise no. of candidates shortlisted for Interview Round

Category wise minimum CAT percentile for shortlisting to interview round

NOTE -
  • The cutoffs mentioned above are merely a benchmark and every candidate satisfying the above criteria becomes eligible for getting a call for an interview from the institute.
  • However, it also needs to be noted that the candidates who receive a call might be way higher than the numbers that have been mentioned in the above table.

Category wise composite score cutoff for the final offer of admission

Category wise total no. of students offered the final offer of admission

Category wise waitlist movement

NOTE -
  • In the above table, the no. of admissions offered above the actual vacancy are the buffer calls for that particular list.
  • This is done in order to reduce the no. of lists and/or the movement that might be needed in the subsequent lists for all the vacant seats to be filled.
  • Also, the no. of buffer calls to be given varies each year and is decided internally by the institute based on the details of the movement the institute has seen in the waitlist over the years.

Category wise minimum CAT Percentile for Offered Candidates

Category wise current Class Composition

    1. Hello.
The composite score cutoff for the final offer of admission indicates the minimum composite score from each category above which everyone was offered admission. Thus, the scores mentioned are the minimum composite scores from the last list. Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello.
Frankly saying as per the trends, 769 in OBC seems difficult to me. And even if you convert it would be in the last lists. However, this is as per my experience as no one can say anything for sure. Thanks and All the Best while I am also glad the data is helping candidates :)

  7. Hi @Ronit ,can you help me understand this 'Category Waitlist Movement Data' . So in first list (ML) for general it is written as 1141 so what does it signifies? Is this the WaitList Number of last candidate that got cleared after First List or what? very confused on this can you please help me out.

    Thanks !

    1. Hello.
So the data given where 1141 for general is written that 1141 candidates were given final offer of admission in merit list itself. This means the college put in approx. buffer of 1000 students. And then the merit list starts. Thanks and I hope this should clarify. :)

  8. Hi @Ronit, my WL for IIMU is 651 in General, when can I expect the final convert or should I expect a convert ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello.
You should receive a final convert in the last few lists. Now we don't know if the buffer calls for this year are more or less but still I feel 651 should be convert by the time admissions are over. However, please note this is as per my experience and no one can say anything for sure. Thanks and All the Best :)

  9. Hello Ronit Sir, Udaipur waitlisted 286, SC Engineer Male 88%ile. Is any chances to convert iim Udaipur PGM.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello.
286 in SC seems difficult to me as per the waitlist movement I am seeing as the institute generally gives a lot of buffer calls to fill seats. However, this is again as per what I have experienced and if there is a convert it will be by last lists. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hello.
Thank you for the appreciation and I am glad I could contribute back in any small way to the MBA community :)
OBC-65 is a 100 percent convert and you should get the same in the next 2 lists itself. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hello.
      Most welcome :)
Frankly saying as per the trends, buffer calls and the waitlist movement it is extremely difficult to convert IIM U at OBC-650. However, again this is as per my experience and can go other way as no one can say anything with 100 percent accuracy. Thanks and All the Best :)

  12. Ews WL 187 udaipur any chances?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello.
EWS-187 is on the very edge and thus is slightly difficult to convert as per the trends I have seen over the years. However, this can go other way as this is as per my experience. Thanks and All the Best :)

  13. Hi Ronit sir, this is really helpful amazing work.
I had a query regarding the waitlist movement does the table signifies the waitlist-1 will move by 1141 or does it mean something else ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello.
Thank you so much for the appreciation. :)
The 1141 indicated the total people offered admission in the merit list. As that is with the buffer calls. Thus say if the institute had for instance 141 seats for general then 1141 indicates actual 141 plus 1000 buffer calls. I hope this makes it clear. Thanks and All the Best :)

    2. Here we can see in the second List 392 more were offered and this certainly more than number of general seats so do college offer buffer calls in further rounds too ?
and taking iim udaipur as an example so the waitlist movement will be 1996-1000; assuming 1000 buffer calls.

      Delete
    3. Hello.
Yes the institute might offer buffer converts in further waitlists as well but post the merit lists, these buffers are also taken from waiting lists. For instance in the 2nd list 392 means the general directly moved by 392. I hope this cleared the doubt. Thanks :)

  14. Hi Ronit ! I had a query related to interview score calculation. Like for CAP we have common interview so is it the case that the interview score used by all the colleges that come under the CAP is same? I know the proportion varies like 20% and 25% weightage for different colleges for Interview but just asking about raw interview score? If you are aware of this would be great insight. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hello.
So the raw score that is sent to all the institute after CAP is the same. The individual institutes then scale it according to their formula to get the score that would be used specific to the institute. Thanks :)

    1. Hello.
As per the trends I have seen over the years you should convert IIM U. However, you might need to wait a few lists to get the convert. Also, please note that this was as per my experience over the years. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hello.
Frankly saying you are at the very edge. Hence, it can go either ways as well. Though as per my experience I still feel you might have a very slight chance of conversion in the last list. But this is as per my experience and as no one can say for sure this can go other way as well. Thanks and All the Best :)

  17. Hey,

    1. Hey Bhumika.
I realized that the moment I got the response from them. However, please note I just disseminate the information. I tried to confirm the same from the institute but could not do so. Hence, I have just posted as the reply was given to me. Though its clear either the minimum percentile is wrong or the criteria is wrong. Thanks :)

    1. Hey.
Yes you should definitely stand a chance at getting a call from the institute provide you score good in CAT. However, the concern would be cracking the interview since you will need to provide a story on why it took you an year extra. So aim for as high as you can in CAT. Thanks and All the Best :)

      Delete
    3. Hey.
You can get admission and start with the B-School. If you clear the backlog there would be no consequences. But failing to do s shall also lead to removal from the B-School due to lack of degree certificate for submission. Thanks and All the Best :)
