    1. Hey. I don't understand, how they could just have this much vacant seats considering sjmsom easily falls under top 15 colleges?

      Delete
    2. Hey.
Yes SJMSOM is within the top 15 in the country. But the vacant seats are due to the exhaustion of the available candidate pool. And as per the govt. regulation you can convert only vacant OBC seats to general and not the others. Thus the vacancy. Thanks :)

Regarding the CS for shortlisting to interview, I had asked for the same however the institute sent the minimum percentile and hence I could not publish the minimum CS. Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey.
The vacant OBC seats are convertible to general as per the policy and that is what has happened. If you calculate the total seats the quota of 28 percent you can know the no. of seats that got converted. Thanks :)

    1. Hey.
If I go according to the score and interview performance, then you should be getting a decent chance of conversion. Though merit list might be slightly difficult but eventually you should. Please note that this is as per my experience over the years as no one could be 100 percent sure. All the Best :)

    1. Hey.
As per the trends I have seen over the years, you should get the convert. However, you will need to wait for a few lists before you actually get the admission letter. Though please note this is as per my experience over the years and can go other way as well. Thanks and all the best :)

    1. Hey.
Looking at the general trends over the years, you are actually at the very edge and thus the chances frankly saying are 50:50. However, I would still bet on you getting the convert but by the last list. Though please note this is as per my experience over the years. Thanks and All the Best :)

    Replies
    1. Hey.
For General Category and as per the trends, 420 might just be on the very edge and you might get a convert in the very last list or the spot rounds if they are converted. However, the chances cannot be stated for sure. Thanks and All the Best :)

  15. Can you tell something about spot round in SJM ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey.
So spot round if it is conducted is the last round taken up to fill the vacant seats. Post all the waitlist movements being completed, if there are still vacant seats and candidates in the candidate pool, they are directly called up and asked if they want to take an admission. If the answer is YES, a very short time window is given to deposit the confirmation amount. If NO then the opportunity moves to the next one in the list. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hey.
As per the trends I have seen over the years, 88 after 2 lists should give you a convert in the next 3-4 lists. Though please note while the list in which you convert can vary but its almost certain you should get the offer. Thanks and All the Best :)

    1. Hey.
You should be able to convert 185 as per the waitlist movements I have seen over the years. However, it might be post quite a good number of lists and you might need to wait for upcoming 4-5 lists. Though please note it can go lower or above that as this is just a prediction based on my experience. Thanks and All the Best :)

Spot rounds should start once the 6th list timeline for payment is over. The timelines though in spot rounds are really short so if you want to take admission ensure you have the funds handy. Thanks and All the Best :)

  33. Hi are the wait list trends in 2023 in line with the ones in 2022, as per your understanding? Initial wait list was 320 in Gen, as per last waitlist this tuesday it is at 180. What are the chances? Thanks.

    1. Hey.
As per what I have seen this year the waitlist movement is actually slower as compared to the last 2 yrs is what I feel. And 180 after nearly 5 lists is extremely difficult to convert as spot list offers won't be to those ranks. However, please note no one can be 100 percent sure. Thanks and All the Best :)

  38. how did we got 19 waitlists last year? They have just started spot round after 7th waitlist this year. Did sjmsom conducted a spot round last year and if so after which waitlist?
Also I am currently at gen-73 right now. Is it possible to convert in spot round?
Also will it be possible that there would be further waitlists after spot round?
    Thanks for your help.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey.
So the data was given to me by the institute itself and quite possible that they included spot rounds too as waitlists as the same are conducted every year.

Regarding your current status, 73 looks slightly dicey also because of the lower waitlist movements in other institutes this year, plus generally it is difficult for the list to move this much in spot rounds. And no there would be no further waitlists post spot rounds.

Though please note this is as per my experience over the years and can go other way as well. Thanks and All the Best :)

  40. Hello Sir,
What do you think could be the reason for slow waitlist movement across all the institutes?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey.
This is a common issue across institutes this year and has been majorly caused due to the excessive buffer calls given by institutes. Since the buffer itself is moving slowly, in some cases there have been zero waitlist movement. Thanks :)
